A National Level Project: Construction of a New Generation Network in the Republic of Kazakhstan

Jet Infosystems has recently completed the development of local NGN networks in Almaty, Astana and Karaganda as well as a long-distance NGN network connecting 10 Kazakhstan regional capitals. The Almaty network has 160 thousand subscribers, Astana network has 40 thousand, and Karaganda network has 60 thousand subscribers. The network in Aktobe for 34 thousand subscribers is currently being launched. Over 50 telephone exchanges throughout the country are connected to the long-distance NGN network.

According to Kazakhstan law, the certified network may be used by state authorities for criminal investigation purposes. Jet Infosystems also ensured the finished project met all legislated compliance requirements for the Republic of Kazakhstan, which required certification tests for special investigation activities (SIA) support.

After the NGN network was launched, Kazakhstan has moved to a new city code system. During this reform the new network was found to be remarkably cost-effective and time-saving compared to the traditional network. Most long-distance traffic today has been switched to the NGN standard.

The NGN technology has replaced an obsolete national telephone network, reduced per-minute costs and in fact brought down the costs of future expansion.

Jet Infosystems has directly participated in the design and construction of long-distance and international networks for many leading operators.

It is currently providing support, maintenance and planned modernization services for these networks. A total of 15 voice communication centers were constructed and about 500 thousand subscribers connected. The new stations were integrated with the existing infrastructure, tested and launched.

Engineering Infrastructure for Computer Centers in Moscow and CIS Countries

Customer: VympelCom JSC

Jet Infosystems has constructed and equipped a total of over 6000 sq. meters of server rooms for VympelCom billing centers in Russia, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Georgia, Uzbekistan and Ukraine. This project involved the construction of integrated premises for unique server equipment, including structured cabling, uninterrupted power supply and air conditioning systems.

Creation of a Modern Call Center

Customer: Mosenergosbyt (Moscow Energy Retail Company)

Mosenergosbyt has around 6 million private and 200 thousand corporate customers. Its call center receives over 12,000 inquiries a day that are processed through 120 incoming lines. The average total duration of processed calls per month is over 1500 hours.

The new system is capable of generating special reports on the performance of the call center staff, service quality and the structure of customer inquiries.

A Distributed Multiservice Corporate Network Project

Customer: ТМК

This project included the deployment of data transmission network infrastructure, an IP-telephony system, an interactive voice response and voice-mail system based on Cisco products. A LAN was constructed and the new IP-telephony system was integrated with existing telephone exchanges from other vendors and with the Microsoft Active Directory service.

A primary and reserve datacenters were designed, constructed and launched. Each center was equipped with subsystems for air conditioning, fire extinguishing built-in, cable channels, structured cabling and uninterrupted power supply, as well as a number of redundant power supply and emergency lighting subsystems. The products used were supplied by SYSTIMAX, APC, ABB, Legrand and Liebert.

Over a dozen projects for building optical fiber backbone networks, including:

VTB Bank:

Construction of an optical DWDM-based network for communications channel between the bank’s primary and reserve datacenters.

Golden Telecom Ukraine:

 A new backbone optical communications channel connecting 11 Ukrainian cities (Kiev, Kharkov, Lvov and others) to Europe.

VympelCom:

Construction of an optical DWDM-based network linking the company’s primary and reserve datacenters.

COMCOR (Moscow Telecommunications Corporation):

Construction of an optical DVDM-based network accommodating 10 G-bit backbone communications channels.

The Joint Institute for Nuclear Research:

A high-speed scalable backbone communications DVDM-based channel Dubna-Moscow. The channel currently operates at a 20 Gbit/sec (two 10Gbit/sec signals) capacity. Up to 88 signals with a carrying capacity of 10, 40 and 100 Gbit/sec may be transmitted. This project provided Russian researchers with an opportunity to exchange information (including that related to the Large Hadron Collider).
